[Harry] and Cedric both grasped the handle.
Instantly, Harry felt a jerk somewhere behind his navel. His feet had left the ground. He could not unclench the hand holding the Triwizard Cup; it was pulling him onward in a howl of wind and swirling color, Cedric at his side.

Instagram AU - Cedric Diggory (part 1/3)
In this AU, the HP universe is more modern (with social media, etc.). During the events in GoF, Harry beats Cedric to the Triwizard Cup, meaning Cedric lives and graduates Hogwarts. For four years, his Instagram is inactive as he juggles volunteering, travelling, a new relationship, his studies to become a lawyer at the Ministry of Magic, and personal internal struggles from fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts. He eventually reconnects with many of his old friends and schoolmates when his boyfriend convinces him that they should get back on social media as a way to normalize their lives. Here’s where Cedric left off when he disconnected from the world.

”For a moment there to I thought you were going to let it get to me”
Compiled here is a series of my most notable memories relating to the Triwizard Tournament in 1994-1994. You may noticed that these are written in present tense. The reason for this is that they are adapted from several journals, interviews, and memories of the time, and so may deviate slightly from fact.
Cedric Diggory. The spare. The one killed without a thought. One second he was there and the next, he would never be there ever again. All in a flash of green. The spell used to kill hundreds of wizards and witches and he would be just like one of them. There were too many to name. His name would be forgotten.
Cedric Diggory. The son. He was everything to his father. The prized child. Always followed directions and worked hard. What do parents after they lose their child? Do they just move on or they grieve over it every day? Amos felt pride in his chest as he sees Harry and his come back from the maze. He’s the happiest he could ever be because his son was just as great as the famous Harry Potter. Until he saw Harry’s tears. His eyes moved over to his son. Those lifeless eyes. Blank and staring into nowhere. And everything seems to freeze. No. No. He could deny it all he wanted to but there wasn’t anything false about the evidence right in front of him. His son was dead. He could nothing to save him. He blames himself everyday for letting Cedric enter that blasted tournament. What if he had said no? What if he had tried to do something? What if…
Cedric Diggory. The wonderful boyfriend. Her laughs and smiles. Even if it was only for a few months, Cho Chang felt like she knew the boy for years. She would never see him smile again. Those eyes would never look at her as if she was the world ever again. Her hand covered her mouth. Choked and muffled sobs came out. The tears streamed down her face and fell. Fell on the ground and created a flood. How was she supposed to ever open her heart again to someone else? Someone else who wasn’t Cedric? There was so many more things she wanted to tell him. That she loves him. That he was her other half. But now, she would never be able to tell him.
Cedric Diggory. The ally. The one mistake he wish he could’ve fixed. Harry’s mind kept playing the scene over and over in his head. It was all his fault. He made them both grab the cup at the same time. He should’ve just listened to Cedric. Then none of this would’ve happened. Cedric would still be here, alive. He was the one Voldemort was after. Not Cedric. He doesn’t know how many more people he’s going to hurt by just being around them. Harry finally breaks. Sobs crack through. The tears start to shed. Everything hurts. Why does he feel like the murderer when it wasn’t his fault? No. Harry won’t let go of Cedric’s body. His cold, dead body. They’re pulling him away now. NO! All Harry wants to do is to change the last hour. If only…
